21st Century Contemporary Tea

Spaces Magazine came to Inspired Occasions just prior to the opening of the new Block Building, the contemporary wing of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art.  The magazine wanted to throw an afternoon tea, but instead of something traditional, they wanted it to be contemporary and fit the look of the new, world-class building.

The Inspired Occasions crew took a new approach to teas and sweets, and instead of doing traditional scones, created a menu with fruit soups, individual parfaits, gelees and cookies.  This event was visually striking and totally unique.

Beverages:

BLOOMING WHITE TEA
Served with lemon, sugar cubes on white rose petals, crystallized sugar and Raw sugar.
Served in white demitasse cups.

PEACH AND CRYSTALLIZED GINGER ICED TEA
Served with sprigs of fresh mint.

SPICED WHITE CRANBERRY, ICED WATER AND SPARKLING MINERAL WATER WITH LIME
The spiced white cranberry is garnished with cranberry and lime.

LEMON AND WHITE CHOCOLATE MOUSSE
Garnished with a fresh raspberry and fresh mint.

CHOCOLATE AND RASPBERRY MOUSSE
Garnished with fresh raspberries and duo chocolate straws.

CHOCOLATE DIPPED STRAWBERRIES AND CHOCOLATE DIPPED PINEAPPLE WEDGES

CHILLED HONEYDEW MELON SOUP WITH MIDORI MELON LIQUEUR

CHILLED CANTALOUPE SOUP WITH HAZELNUT SYRUP

PINK CHAMPAGNE GELEE WITH FRESH BERRIES AND CHOCOLATE PEPPER HEART COOKIES

LEMON AND LAVENDER GELEE WITH FRESH BERRIES
Served with a heart shaped lemon shortbread cookie with a lemon glaze and dusted with lavender petals.
